Apartments for friends

I recently looked at some apartments for friends, so If you family and stumbling upon this please ignore it 🙂

Overall the size was good.  The exception being the bathroom.. it was kinda small

 

1Bedroom (he showed us an 8th floor unit so I dont know how others compare with balconies etc.)

kitchen- nice sized!  there is room for a little table from where I was taking the photo and a nice big bay window

other units- he showed us a studio on the 8th floor that was kinda cool… one big room (that you could put a divider up in for two areas ) and it had a cool galley kitchen.

and the pool area- looks like its going to be nice with a BBQ grill area and 3 tiered deck

 

Overall- I think its has a ton of potential- Its only about 6 blocks off of Colorado where there are a ton of restaurants (swing thai, starbucks, Chipolte and more) and I just heard they will be building a Trader Joes at the corner of Colorado and 8th so you would be very close to that.  

The only down side that I have to note is the size of the bathrooms… they were on the small side. but the kitchens are living areas are very nice sized.  He showed us where the fitness center would be and said there will be garage parking for a premium.

Home made Vanilla

Found a screaming deal on Vanilla beans here. And decided to make my own vanilla!  Its been brewing in my cupboard since Christmas…I had four jars to start with, but have gifted two of them, so I only have 2 left!

Strawberries

I saw something recently on pinterest that caught my attention.  As has been well documented on this page, my yard and garden dont get a lot of sun. So when I saw these vertical planters I got an idea (also combined from this post) to plant strawberries and hang them on our west brick wall. So about 2 months ago I ordered 50 bare root strawberries, 25 June bearing and 25 ever bearing so there would be a good mix.  Then time passed and I forgot about them. All of a sudden they showed up in my mail box and I had to get them planted.  I bought a bunch of felt from Hobby Lobby and fashioned my own wall planter.  Below are photos of the process.

 

And now they are starting to grow pretty good!  

The ones in the garden are doing really well too and I have a TON of flowers and some little berries starting to form.

How do you grow your strawberries so to keep the birds, bugs and squires off of them?
